The Real Estate Department (RED) at the University of New Mexico is responsible for all real estate property holdings, interests and transactions which includes selling and acquiring real property for the benefit of the Regents of the University. We manage the property held by the University to maximize the benefit it will bring for long-term growth and development.

Consisting of eight full-time and one half-time employee, our major areas of responsibility include property management at the Science & Technology Park (STP), leasing off-campus space for University departments and/or activities, acquisitions, management of oil and gas interests, financial and feasibility analysis, internal consulting, and administration.

We provide comprehensive real estate services for all entities of the Regents including academic and research units on North, South, Central and Branch Campuses, the Health Science Center, the University of New Mexico Hospital, UNM Medical Group, and the Science and Technology Corporation (STC). In addition, RED provides professional real estate support to Lobo Development.
